Brother Turhan Yolcu is a PhD candidate at the University of Melbourne’s School of Historical and Philosophical Studies. His research focuses on the epistemological problem of philosophical skepticism. In his thesis, he develops a novel argument against external-world skepticism by examining its connection to a lesser-known form of skepticism known as a priori skepticism.

Beyond epistemology, his academic interests extend to the philosophy of religion and aspects of the philosophy of science, including the problem of induction. He has a particular passion for the works of the Muslim scholar Bediuzzaman Said Nursi and is currently contributing to the editing of a forthcoming retranslation of Nursi’s Risale-i Nur into English.

He lives in inner-city Melbourne with his wife and two sons.
